About Us

Hello, I'm Dani

I'm so happy you are here

Throughout childhood nature was my solace, my escape from all the things that felt so out of control.

I remember being up a tree watching the world go by, being lay on the grass watching the clouds in the sky, and moss, I still absolutely love the smell and texture! It was the one place that gave me space to move and be free to be me, time to sit and notice things with no fear or concern about what was coming next!

As I reached early adulthood, I lost myself for a time, I spiralled! Using unhealthy coping strategies and being drawn toward people that were unhealthy for me to be around. But there were a couple of people and things that kept me afloat, my Nan and my best friend, now Husband, and dance, I loved to dance!

A Blessing

During my adult life I’ve struggled with different injuries, stress, anxiety and at times even depression. I felt trapped in a body that no longer functioned the way it used to, and a mind that was either stuck in the past or worrying about the future! Going from one unhealthy coping strategy to another, at a point where I was in a lot of pain and so disconnected from my body and the world around me! Trauma had built up and stored itself in my body for years. Only in my early 40s, this was no way to live! Something had to change, so anything was worth trying!

After a recommendation to try yoga, which I was reluctant to do at the time! I discovered that there was more to it than simple movement. My anxiety and stress levels became much more manageable, my sleep patterns improved, my eating habits started to change and learning to be able to focus more in the moment helped in so many ways. But then, lockdown came and I ended up with long covid, then got an awful knee injury. Feeling like life was out of control and trapped in my body once again, made me distraught! Having to learn to live within my new physical limitations, was hard! I couldn’t get out and walk, hobbling on crutches up and down the garden was it! But I learnt to be thankful for the little things.

All this time to think, reminded me my Nan ended up in a wheelchair at my age, so being able to hobble and having a garden to do it in, felt like a blessing.

More relaxed, grounded and centred

Learning to be kind to myself and accepting where I was at, was a big part of my recovery. Struggling with anger and frustration meant I wasn’t the best person to live with. But with the help of my two very patient boys, I learnt how to give myself the space to build myself back up. The more I could, the more I emersed myself back into nature and gentle movement. This reminded me how much being present in those moments helps make memories that get you through the crap, that Living in the past or the future, meant I had been missing now, and now is what really matters! Then I found a fantastic new yoga studio and learned new ways of moving, being and bringing myself more into the present moment, Then did my natural mindfulness guide training, which only added to me being present.

After personally experiencing it, and seeing how movement and nature has helped my family, I’m passionate to share the things that have helped us. It’s been life changing! But I’m still the me I used to be, just a more relaxed, grounded and centred me. So, in sharing this passion, I’ll be collaborating with like minded health and wellbeing practitioners, such as amazing Yoga Teachers, gorgeous Reiki and Massage Therapists and last but not least as Self Defence & all-round Personal Training Guru.
